Also on Friday "Kona" Carl and I journeyed onward to measure the buoys at Lido Beach. Lido provides a very nice set up for 1/2 Iron distance swims but any distance works well here. Here are a couple of suggested routes. And if you're looking to make a change in your life including a fitness goal and/or completing your first triathlon, check out Carl's site at carlknutssonfitness.com

A Friday morning kayak venture along Siesta Key Beach allowed for the opportunity for some official GPS measuring. Thanks to "Kona" Carl for the company and entertainment!
Although enduring some challenging conditions, athletes at the 2011 Florida International Triathlon enjoyed a great destination race at Siesta Key Beach (rated 2nd best beach in America) with all the post race food you could possibly eat under the cool shade of Australian pines. The Sarasota Storm Tri Club orgainzes this race 2 weeks after each year's St. Anthony's Triathlon. This years race's title sponsor was Wilde Honda of Sarasota and benefitted the Challenged Athletes Foundation amoung other charities.

Thursday morning swim course set up for Florida International Triathlon on Siesta Key Beach. Although it involved moving 500lbs of concrete anchors 5x to get them into the water, the dolphin show was priceless. Thanks to Chris J. for your assistance this year in setting the Sprint & Olympic courses which were measured by GPS.
